Global Optimism Impact Ltd (“we”/”us”/“our”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We work with Global Optimism Strategy Limited to collaborate on our joint goal promoting climate advocacy. Please see the “Who do we share your data with” section below for more detail on when we might share your data with them.

What Information We Collect

- If you subscribe to our newsletter
- If you otherwise provide us with your contact details
We also receive personal data from other sources which include:
- Service providers that help determine your location based on your IP address in order to customise certain products to your location

- Information generated by the use of cookies on our website. You can read our Cookies Statement here. This information may include information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type and for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
How we collect, use and store personal data
We collect, use and store this personal data for the following purposes:
- For our own legitimate interests in monitoring usage of site and improving it and promoting the work of Global Optimism Impact
- Subject to your consent, when you have subscribed to our newsletters
- To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer
- To provide you with information that you request from us
- Otherwise to comply with data protection laws

Data Subject Access Request
You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. If you wish to make a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR), please contact us. We will respond to your request as required by applicable data protection laws. Please note that we may require further information from you to verify your identity and ensure the security of your personal data. We strive to address all DSARs in a timely and efficient manner, but in certain circumstances, we may be legally permitted to refuse your request. If this is the case, we will inform you of the reasons for the refusal.
Who do we share your data with?
We do not sell or trade in your personal data. We may need to share your data with companies that support the work that we do as our service providers (e.g Google Workspace, Hubspot, Campaign Monitor or other IT services supplier) but when we do that, they are acting as our “data processor” only and they do not have any right to use your personal data for their own purposes.
We have shared Hubspot and Campaign Monitor accounts with Global Optimism Strategy Limited and this collates any information collected through our websites. For this limited quantity of data, Global Optimism Strategy Limited may act as a data controller. Their privacy policy can be found here. We do not share with Global Optimism Strategy Limited, any details of individuals subscribing to our newsletter.
Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
Data retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for.
If you no longer wish to be subscribed to our newsletter, you can ask us to stop sending you our newsletter and you can ask us to delete your data.

Transferring personal data outside the UK / EU
Countries outside the UK and the European Union may have a lower standard of protection for personal information than that required by UK and have EU data protection laws. The personal data we collect may be transferred to, and stored, outside the UK or EU (including for example in the United States) and may also be processed by people or companies operating outside the UK or EU who work for us or one of our partners or suppliers. In the event that we need to transfer personal data to a company based outside the UK or the EU, we do our best to ensure that the data is handled in line with UK and EU law by checking that the data is protected by appropriate contractual terms.
