Outrage + Optimism / Special Series
How To Live A Good Life in a Climate Crisis
How can we live with joy and purpose at this time of climate crisis? In this mini-series, the Outrage + Optimism hosts dive into the complex issues of careers, food, flying, children, and the meaning of life.
About this series
Over five episodes, Tom, Paul and Christiana explore the most common questions around how to live well in a climate crisis, when problems can feel enormous and our systems are not fit for purpose.
The hosts grapple with one large dilemma per episode, raised by listeners. For example ‘Is it OK to Fly in a Climate Crisis?’, ‘What Should I Eat in a Climate Crisis?’ and ‘Is it OK to Have Children in a Climate Crisis?’. They discuss the interplay between the largest issue facing humanity - the climate crisis - and the day-to-day decisions we each make. Small actions taken by many can make vital changes to the way that governments and systems function.
Please don’t expect any right or wrong answers! Rather than providing you with the ingredients for the perfect life, Tom, Paul and Christiana will share their stories, reveal their struggles and analyse the latest research. Their realities are not shared by everyone, and the hosts are open that to even engage in these conversations is a luxury and a privilege. The hosts are clear that their views and notions come from their own perspectives and that there are as many different realities on these issues as there are people in the world.
The intention of this mini-series is to allow listeners a pause, to reflect on how we approach our lives in increasingly changing times. Warning: after listening, you may strongly disagree, and you feel more confused ... We only hope you’ll feel confused at a deeper level! We hope that this series will create the starting point for further conversations about our daily decisions.
As always, we’d love to hear what you think.
